The Personalized Baby Afghan, pattern available on my website here, is one of my most popular patterns of all time.
When I first designed it 14 years’ ago, I had wanted to sell it to a publisher. But, I am very glad at this point that I didn’t. If it had been published in a magazine, it would have vanished long ago. But, since it’s available on the internet, its popularity has been astounding. People are still making this afghan in great numbers, all these many years later.
Once someone told me that they had seen the outer border finished in several different colors stacked behind the booth at a craft fair. Customers could pick their color and choose a name, then the seller needed only to do the center portion. Isn’t that fun?
Although I have the entire alphabet graphed out for people to make their own graphs, I also made graphs for people for many years. Unfortunately, I’m unable to make the graphs any longer. So today, I uploaded all the graphs I’ve made and placed them on my website.
For anyone wanting an individual graphed name, hopefully the name or at least a portion of the name can be located among my files. I hope this will help everyone in making this afghan. And, I think I’m also going to be making one of the afghans very soon since I have a grandbaby on the way.
