I am heartsick and sad about the recent events and I feel like I’ve wasted three weeks of my life, trying to do damage control. So, it will lighten the mood to let you know that we will all be the happy recipients of a new crochet magazine to discover. And, if all goes well, some of you may actually go to Walmart today and find it since the release date is today, September 18.

This is Crochet 1-2-3 magazine. It is available only on newsstands at Walmart and by subscription. Hard copy only. No downloads. You can find out more information at the website here.
My part in this issue is a technique article on working in a spiral. I take you through everything you need to know in order to work in a spiral and I’ve designed three hats to give you a chance to practice the technique.
The release date is today and I may have to run into town just to see if it’s there.

I had to get catfood at Walmart so of course I checked the mag section. All my local WM had was Interweave Crochet nothing else in crochet, 2 in knitting, 2 in beading and a couple in quilting which is big here in southwest Oregon….but that one looks like it’s for teaching children/teens to crochet? I get Crochet Today for simple but stylish patterns and Interweave Crochet and Crochet! for all others…

I wonder if it’s possible that it’s over by the yarn?

If they have enough good taste to include Kim, I’m subscribing. At $12.95 a year for 6 issues, you can’t go wrong. When I subscribed they said the subscription starts with issue #2 and they’ll sell you the premiere issue for $5.99. I said I’d get it at Walmart
According to the customer service rep, it is located in the craft section, not the magazine section.

You may want to become a member of Ravelry.com (it’s free). Ravelry is the largest database of crochet and knit patterns. A lot of them are free. You can search Ravelry by any criteria you like and you should be able to find something that will appeal to you.
