Excitement Gets the Better of Me

| 8 Comments

So, this weekend, as I was reading and trying to respond to the numerous emails I had received about this book, I realized that I must have it. Right. Now. Tunisian Cables to Crochet has started shipping and the PDF became available on Friday. I was receiving questions and congratulations and I didn’t have the book myself. And, I really, really wanted to see it. My excitement about seeing it was enough to make me nuts.

Now, don’t worry. I will receive my designer copies and I’m sure they’ll be here soon. It just takes some time because they’re shipping the books to all you lovely people first. My copies and the accompanying projects will be shipped to me soon. But, I am impatient. I couldn’t wait!

So, I clicked on that link and I bought the PDF download. Bing, bang, boom. Just like that. And, with a click of my mouse, I sent it directly to my Kindle. Because, how cool is that?

What made my transaction even faster was that this is the first time I realized that Annie’s takes PayPal. Yay! It’s always fun when I find a vendor who takes PayPal. (I was irrationally excited when I discovered that Walgreens.com takes PayPal.)

So, I have my book, on my Kindle and perhaps I’ll run into strangers and force them to look at my book. ha!

  1. I have a Susan Bates Circular Crochet Hook. Can it be used for any of those patterns??? If so, I might splurge and buy it. Ok, to be honest, I might buy it anyway. Lol I have a hard time finding Tunisian patterns.
    I’m so glad you shared this!

    • I don’t know the size of your hook, so I can’t be certain that you can use that one. But, I will say that circular hooks (ones with a crochet hook on each end) are the better bargain when purchasing hooks for Tunisian because they can be used in regular flat Tunisian, double-ended Tunisian and Tunisian in the round.

      • It’s US H-8. And I am still only a beginner in Tunisian. My best friend bought it for me when I expressed an interest in learning Tunisian. I felt bad because I cannot find any patterns that require something like this. ^^;

      • Just stick with me. I’ve got lots and lots of patterns for Tunisian. :-) I don’t use an H hook very often, though. It’s a little on the small side for most of my projects. But, you could easily use it to learn your stitches and practice Tunisian. Try it with a finer yarn, like sport weight or finer, for best results. I believe that I used a size H for the Geneva Scarf and Headband set.

      • Yay!! I most certainly will! I’m soo glad I found you here!! I have a feeling I will learn a lot from you!! Thank you!!! :)
        And sport wieght yarn is difficult to come by out here. Would baby weight work??? For practicng, anyways. ^^;

      • Yes, absolutely it will work. :-)

  2. Kim where did you buy the PDF verion of your book? I went to Annie’s Attic and the only option is for the paper book. I live in South Africa and AA does not ship here.

    • The PDF was previously available. But, I’ve just clicked the link and I see that they have reduced the price of the book. Very unusual for a new book, but it must have something to do with Labor Day. Any time that they put a sale for a book like this, they remove the PDF during the sale. I would check back later. I’m sure it will go back up there.
