New Design: Beaded-Square Top

The Beaded-Square Top is now available to digital subscribers to Crochet World magazine. It is in the June 2010 issue. I love the handkerchief hem of the lower edge and the sleeves. And, of course, it gave me an opportunity to use beads, which I always love.

The design itself is relatively easy to crochet. It’s all in single crochet with just enough variety at the points so that it’s not monotonous. When I made this particular garment, I made it in the size large. But, I really don’t think this particular model is a size large. It’s a little big on her which puts a lot of extra fabric in the front. On the appropriate size, it wouldn’t have nearly as much fabric, but, as it’s my favorite style, it’s still going to be larger at the hem than the bust because I really prefer A-line styling. And, since I’ll be getting this one back from the publisher, I’m sure I’ll be wearing it to the Chain Link conference in New Hampshire this summer. :-)

I used Pisgah Perle Cotton, available here. And, I used seed beads available here from Fire Mountain Gems.
